Tea with Einstein; Coffee with Oppenheimer; His Service in WWII: This Veteran Looks Back On His Life As He Turns 105

On August 10th, 2014, Carroll Dick celebrated his 105th birthday with friends and family, as well as with dozens of people he’d never met before. They came to pay respect, these strangers, to a man who continues to add to his beautiful life.

As you’ll see in the video below, Carroll still is quick to point that he had the privilege of sipping tea with Albert Einstein while at Princeton, as well as having a cup of coffee with J. Robert Oppenheimer while working on the A-bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

In addition, Carroll served as lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II. He also was happily married for 67 years, and fathered two sons, Jim and Roger. He currently resides in Chesterfield Township, Michigan and can often be found wearing the appreciative grin so many have come to know him by.
