Wounded Marine Sings “Ain’t No Sunshine” On America’s Got Talent

United States Marine Sal Gonzalez is an inspiration, plain and simple. Joining the Marine Corps directly out of high school, Gonzalez was sent overseas to serve on deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unfortunately, while he was deployed to Iraq Gonzalez was wounded, and lost his leg. On an medical discharge, Gonzalez was sent home where he soon discovered just how difficult it can be to adjust, both physically and mentally.

Music, Gonzalez says in the video below, is what got him through the tough times.

The time and effort he has put into his craft has paid off — in Season 9 of the hit show America’s Got Talent, Gonzalez took the stage and sang his heart out for the judges. His cover of the song “Ain’t No Sunshine,” originally by artist Bill Withers, is absolutely amazing, and after you watch his performance you’ll be just as impressed as the judges and the audience were at the time.

This Marine was able to improvise, adapt, and overcome after being wounded in battle, and now he’s an inspiration to us all.

Watch the video below and listen to this Marine sing!
