Sergeant’s Daughter Gets Big Surprise At School Musical

Army Sgt. Dallas May has served multiple tours of duty overseas, and over the years he has sacrificed more than just his service — he has given up some very precious time with his growing family to serve in the military for his country. During one deployment, he missed the birth of his son. So after a year deployed in Korea, Sgt. May wasn’t going to miss his daughter’s elementary school music recital — she just didn’t know it.

Sgt. May returned home to the loving embrace of his wife, Tiffany, and their 3-year-old son, Jackson, at the airport. They kept his early arrival a secret from their 8-year-old daughter, Kendra, however. Dallas had landed at the airport at 6 p.m. the same day as the music program, so the family hurried from the airport to the school, where Tiffany and Jackson watched from the seats and Dallas watched from the side, out of sight.

At the end of the program, the music teacher announced that there was a special parent who had traveled a very long way to come that night. That’s when Sgt. May stepped forward with his arms outstretched toward his daughter on stage.
