Chance, a golden retriever, may only have three legs, but he has a big enough heart to make up for that. He certainly doesn’t let anything slow him down or lessen his enthusiasm — especially when he sees his soldier owner coming home from deployment!
In the homecoming video captured below, Chance can be seen waiting not-so-patiently at the front door. As soon as he sees his soldier get out of his truck after being away on deployment, he dashes over to him, bounding with joy.
It’s absolutely heartwarming to see the dog’s excitement, and it makes for the perfect homecoming welcome for this soldier.
You’ll want to watch this video over and over again. It’s just too good to only watch once (or not share with your friends)!
Pets can bring so much meaning and happiness to our lives, and that certainly was the case when this soldier came home from deployment. After all of that time away from home, it must have felt great to be welcomed with such enthusiasm and love. The brave men and women serving in the military should never have to wonder if they are missed while away on deployment. It’s safe to say this soldier knows he was deeply missed, given Chance’s reaction at seeing him.
Some military homecoming videos have service members surprising their relatives, spouses, children, or friends. It’s great to see this service member surprise his beloved dog when he got home — someone he probably missed a lot while he was on deployment.
If there are two things that should never be underestimated or unappreciated, it’s the service of our men and women in uniform and the unconditional love of a dog.
The excitement, energy, and boundless love this dog shows for his owner must have been better than any parade for the soldier. It certainly is a “welcome home” done right!
Watch Chance give his soldier the best homecoming welcome in the video below!
