Marine Who Stood Guard for Cody Green Speaks Out

Diagnosed with leukemia when he was 22 months old, Cody Green grew up loving the U.S. Marine Corps — and the Marines loved him right back. As Cody battled his cancer, he drew courage from the example set by the Marines. In appreciation for Cody’s support, the Marine Corps presented him with navigator wings and made an honorary Marine. The night before twelve-year-old Cody lost his fight against leukemia, a single Marine kept vigil outside his room. This is his story.
