Female soldiers strive to be treated as equals with their male counterparts, and sometimes discover it can be a challenge to do that without losing their identity as women. They must find the balance between becoming a soldier and using the lessons they learn to better themselves as women in the future.
Through their experiences in the military, these women learned how to be stronger, trust their instincts, and became better leaders. Many of these adapted traits carry over into their civilian lives after their duty is served.
For women veterans, the transition back into their civilian life can be a challenging one. Realizing that it is not a sign of weakness to reach out and receive help with moving forward and adjusting to their new lives is an important milestone for any veteran.
