In Tribute To The Women Who Have Fallen In Service To The Nation

Those who go to war in defense of the nation know at some deep level that they might not come home. Like any person full of the vigor of life and yearning to fulfill dreams for their lives, they do not want to die, but somehow, they are even more moved by the noble idea of serving others, of making a difference in the well being of others.

Somewhere deep down inside, those who voluntarily choose to serve in the uniforms of our military know that their desire to serve, especially in time of war, may require them to pay a great price. That “larger cause,” especially in the environment of war and the battlefield, may quite simply be the lives of those who are on either side of you in the midst of battle.

There is no greater love, we are told, than to lay one’s life down for our friends. That greater love story is part of the sacrifices made by each of the young women you will see in this video.

Over the years that we have been engaged in the struggle against the forces of terrorism, more and more women have been enabled to serve in battlefield MOSs formerly only occupied by men. As a result, they too have paid the cost and endured the sacrifices that come with war fighting.

This video is in honor of the brave women who have fallen while serving their country in Iraq and Afghanistan over the last 18 years. The video does not include every woman who has fallen, but is representative of all of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Their sacrifice in service to the nation must be honored and never forgotten.

Each of these women honored one of a citizen’s highest callings in choosing to serve the nation in the military services.

Each of these women honored one of a citizen’s highest callings in choosing to serve the nation in the military services. The women in this video gave their last full measure, honoring their oath to protect and to defend the Constitution of the United States of America and all those who enjoy the freedoms that the Constitution enshrines and promises to all citizens.

We here at the Veterans Site add our honor and deepest respect to the memory of these women. We send our condolences to their families and promise them that their daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers, will not be forgotten.

Rest in Peace good and noble warriors.
