Over there! Two more of them!
I see them. Wait, Leia!
“Star Wars” style hoverbikes may be closer to reality than science fiction, thanks to a project run by the U.S. military.
The Department of Defense has teamed up with U.S. and U.K. engineers to create a hoverbike capable of flying at 60 miles per hour and 10 feet off the ground.
The engineers hope to create commercial and military versions of the hoverbike that can travel over both land and sea.
According to Timothy Vong, an Army Research Laboratory project coordinator, the hoverbike will have both manned and unmanned capabilities and carry up to two people at a time.
