Perhaps one of the most challenging parts of having a loved one serve our country is that we cannot see them as often as we’d like, and they cannot see us as often as they’d like. That’s what makes surprise homecomings like this one so special.
Army PFC Eddie Bustin decided to surprise his family at his little sister’s middle school graduation. Bustin had asked his sister Alyssa what she wanted for her graduation months before the event. She told him she wanted him to be there.
Without telling anyone in his family, Bustin set about to make that happen. He had not seen his family for nearly a year while serving in South Korea. When Bustin walked on stage during the ceremony, he gave his whole family the best surprise of their lives.
