Here’s a video that full of both patriotism and talent. Letters From Home’s Erinn Diaz and Serah Hale sing and tap dance to the “Ballad of the Green Berets” at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1822 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. A tribute group dedicated to the music and spirit of the 1940s, the duo performs comedic and patriotic routines to honor U.S. veterans and active-duty military.
This is a must-see performance that could only have been better in person! The song “Ballad of the Green Berets” was written by U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Barry Sadler during the Vietnam War. Sadler himself was a Green Beret, the elite special forces unit of the Army, who wrote the popular ballad while he was in the hospital recovering from a battle injury.
“I love what these girls are doing. I am medically retired from the Army. Lost a lot of good brothers and sisters. Thank you for what you do,” commented George Alexander.
“Green Beret and Taps!! This is excellent! These gals should be in a better video! Hopefully someone can get this some publicity!” wrote SalSensible.
“I share this every year on Memorial day without doubt for me such a beautiful touching tribute,” commented sheryll martin.
“I really love these gals! I have family members and many friends that serve in our military,” wrote Maylene McDondald. “I am deeply touched by this.”
Letters from Home has performed in over 20 states, entertaining veterans and civilians alike. They are an amazing duo that deserve as much respect as they give to our brave men and women in uniform.
