Bruins Surprise Parents With Son Home From Afghanistan

The Boston Bruins really pulled this one off with precision.

In November 2011, the team was honoring all of our vets on Veterans Day weekend. Before the start of the game, they had a little surprise for the parents of Lt. Charles Jacobs.

The Bruins invited the Jacobs’ to drop the ceremonial puck before the game. The team announcer mentions that their son is overseas in Afghanistan, and as they take the ice, you can see that the parents were honored to be there on the ice.

However, and thankfully, no one told them who would be there to help them with the dropping of the puck! Needless to say, this is a beautiful moment for all to see and it is all caught on video.

We salute Lt. Jacobs, his parents, and the Boston Bruins for this wonderful moment!
