This Blue Angels Pilot Has Helped To Pave The Way For NAVY Women

The Blue Angels are an American tradition. Since their launch in 1946, an estimated half-a-billion spectators have watched the thrilling show put on by the Blue Angels, but until one special woman came along, there had been something missing for the last 70 years.

For the first time in the team’s history, U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Katie Higgins flew into the history books as the first female pilot to perform with the Blue Angels.

But despite being a history-maker, Higgins is extremely humble about her achievements and is grateful for everything the public has shown her.

“I definitely appreciate the support from the American people, and if I can bring attention to opportunities people have in life, girls included — that they can join the military, be a Marine, even be a Blue Angel pilot, then that’s cool,” Higgins said.
